PLANS to end the pong blighting a Southampton neighbourhood will be displayed today.
Southern Water is inviting members of the public to have their say on the revamp of Woolston Wastewater Treatment Works, which was first built in 1966 and often plagues the area with a noxious smell.
The proposed scheme aims to reduce the whiff coming from the works in Victoria Road, and also ensure that the treated water leaving the site meets new European Union standards.
It will also involve a complete redesign of the works to ensure it fits in with the redevelopment of the surrounding area and not become an eyesore for the new look community.
The exhibitions will be taking place at St Mark’s Institute, 37a Victoria Road, today between 10am and 2pm.
