A DIVING programme that supports disabled people has been nominated for a prestigious fitness award.
Divability, set up by Active Nation at The Quays Swimming Centre in Southampton, has been put forward for the final of the UKactive and Matrix Flame Spark of Innovation Award, as one of three finalists.
The award recognises excellence and good practice in the fitness industry.
Diving development officer at Active Nation Lindsey Fraser said: “Our diving management team set up Divability in 2010 when we identified a need for a disability section of our existing diving programme.
"Our disability lessons give children and young people aged seven to 19 the chance to experience something special. To be nominated for a Flame award is fantastic.”
