Homes and firms hit by power cut
HOMES and businesses in Hampshire were affected by a widespread powercut this evening.
Electricity provider SSE said customers in the Chandler's Ford and Fair Oak areas were hit by a power failure at around 5.50pm.
Engineers worked to restore the power within half an hour.
SSE told the Daily Echo the cause of the power failure was unknown but they would be working to find the problem.
The firm also apologised to those affected by the outage.
