AN army of scooters descended on Southampton to raise thousands of pounds for sick children.
The Wimpson Old Boys Scooter Club hosted its first charity fun day at the Saints pub in Millbrook, raising money for the Piam Brown children’s cancer ward at Southampton General Hospital.
More than 400 people enjoyed the event, which saw 160 scooters from across the county drive off from Mansfield Park, as they headed to Southampton’s Cellar Bar.
When they got back it was time to sit back and enjoy the live music and stalls in the sunshine.
Eugene McManus, landlord of The Saints pub, said: “It was a fantastic day which was well supported by scooter enthusiasts and the local community as a whole. It was a real privilege to host the club’s first all-day event and it was a real spectacle to see all those scooters head off together.”
