A Southampton football club has won permission to build a new ground.
City council planners have given Bush Hill Football Club consent to build a new pitch and a building containing changing rooms, showers and toilets. The building at Mansel Park will also contain a store and refreshments area, while there will be a new seating area built next to the pitch.
The club, which was founded in 2002, currently shares facilities at Green Park in Wimpson Lane.
But the senior team’s promotion to the Hampshire Premier League means the club must have its own ground.
The club applied to build the new pitch and building earlier this year, having agreed a deal with the freeholders of Mansel Park for a ten-year lease. Now, after the council gave the scheme the green light, building work will begin.
