TWO people were treated for smoke inhalation after fire broke out in a Southampton flat last night.
Around 15 fire fighters were called to three-floor block of flats on Radstock Road in Woolston and tackled a blaze which started in a basket of clothes.
Teams from Hightown and St Mary’s were called to the scene at 11.45pm and spent more than an hour extinguishing the flames and clearing the smoke.
One person from the flat in question and one from the flat above suffered smoke inhalation in the drama. The building sustained smoke damage.
A spokesman from Hightown Fire Station said the incident highlighted the need for residents to fit smoke alarms.
