A LORRY driver had a lucky escape when his truck hit a Romsey railway bridge this morning.
The 38-year-old Netley Abbey man was badly shaken but otherwise unhurt in the incident at Greatbridge.
His Daf lorry was travelling south along the A3057 when the accident happened shortly before 11am.
The road was blocked and police set up diversions around the accident.
Traffic built up around the crash site for a time and police tried to find suitable alternative routes for HGV drivers because of height restrictions on other railway bridges in the town.
The road reopened shortly before 2.30pm.
