TODAY sees the return of the Daily Echo's crime-busting Christmas countdown with the launch of this year's Crack A Crime for Christmas calendar.

Every day from now until Christmas Eve the face of a suspect wanted in connection with crimes committed across Hampshire will be revealed.

In collaboration with Hampshire police, Daily Echo readers are asked to help track them down and call police with any information that could lead to their arrest.

This year also sees the launch of the countdown on the Daily Echo website. Each day you will be able to reveal the suspect of the day by clicking on the appropriate window and watching their face appear.

The calendar was launched by the Daily Echo in 2004 and has since seen the capture of 20 featured suspects who were spotted by the public.

The first face to appear on this year's Christmas countdown is that of Jason Taylor. The 21-year-old is wanted by Southampton police in connection with a number of deception offences.

Suspected crimes include fraud and a burglary, some of which date back to 2003.

Police also want to speak to him regarding an offence of impersonating a police officer.

Taylor is described as 5ft 10in with short brown hair and is of medium build. He has a pock-marked face and tattoos on his left arm of a bull's head and an anchor.

If you know where he is or have any information as to his whereabouts, do not approach him directly but contact Southampton police on 0845 045 4545.

Alternatively you can give information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The number is free, confidential and you could earn a cash reward.
