Hampshire Cricket has revealed that last week's supermarket streaker was not one of their players.
The club has examined CCTV footage of the streaker attempting to buy a bottle of vodka from the store in Ashford, Kent at 4.20am.
It had been assumed that the culprit was a Hampshire player as their Second XI was staying in the adjacent hotel.
But that is not the case.
The following club statement has been issued: "Hampshire Cricket has conducted a thorough investigation into the alleged involvement of a player associated with the Club, being involved in a late night incident in a supermarket in Ashford, Kent.
"This investigation included a viewing of the supermarket CCTV footage and the Club is satisfied that this is a case of mistaken identity and that the person involved, was not part of the Hampshire second XI squad that was staying in the next door hotel."
