POLICE are appealing for help in tracking a reclusive pensioner who has gone missing from his Hampshire home.

Thomas Holmes, pictured, aged 74, lives in a caravan in Pound Lane, Ampfield, and was last seen on November 13.

Fears are growing for Mr Holmes after land and air searches failed to trace the pensioner who is well known in the area.

A search of local hospitals also failed to find him.

He was inseparable from his pet dog who alerted police to his master's apparent disappearance, when it was found wandering around looking lost.

His vehicle has been located in a car park in Valley Park, where it has been parked for the last two weeks.

Mr Holmes is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build - approximately eight-stone, frail with long grey hair and a rough grey beard.

He is thought to be wearing a green Barbour jacket, blue jeans, black boots and a dark green hat.
