A SOUTHAMPTON drugs offender will return to court in the autumn knowing that he will receive a substantial prison sentence.
The point was conceded by the defence when Harish Chandarana appeared at Winchester Crown Court on cannabis and cocaine charges.
The prosecution and defence had agreed at an earlier hearing about the level of his involvement with cannabis.
However, the two sides were at issue over the cocaine.
The defence claimed that it was social supply to help fund his habit but the prosecution alleged that from telephone records he was more heavily involved that he claimed.
Judge Keith Cutler adjourned the case until October 30 for the issue to be determined by another judge.
Chandarana, 57, of Oxford Avenue, who had admitted being concerned in the supply of both drugs, had bail renewed.
