A MAN was left in hospital suffering serious injuries after he tried to stop a couple arguing outside his Hampshire home.
The 46-year-old man heard raised voices outside his home in Long Lane, Holbury and went outside to find that his van had been damaged.
He spotted and man and women, who had been arguing, walk away but when he tried to speak to them he was assaulted, leaving him unconscious for a short time.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he was treated overnight.
PC Adrian Jones said: “This would appear to be an unprovoked attack on a man who had just had his vehicle damaged.
We need to identify the man and woman who were heard arguing in the area just prior to the assault.”
Anyone with information about the attack, which happened on July 7, at 2am, should contact PC Jones at Lyndhurst on 101.
