Man in court after roof top stand off on rape and stalking charge
A MAN is due to appear in court today following a dramatic rooftop stand-off with police in Southampton.
Derek Johnston, 39, of no fixed abode, has been charged with rape, sexual assault, and stalking.
Officers closed Gainsford Road in Bitterne as the 13-hour stand-off unfolded on Tuesday.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today.
