THE NEW Forest Show will receive a royal visit for the second year running.

Organisers of the three-day spectacular have announced that the Earl and Countess of Wessex will tour the showground on July 31.

It follows last year's visit to the Daily Echo-backed show by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Show chairman Geoff Morgan said: “The Earl and Countess of Wessex are a superb couple and she in particular has got a terrifically soft spot for the New Forest.

“They are willing to go around separately, which means they can see twice as many things.

“They are a much loved couple and have done a fair bit in Hampshire.”
