POLICE have issued an e-fit of a man they want to find after a young woman was assaulted and robbed in Southampton.
The 18-year-old woman was walking in East Park from the direction of Charlotte Place roundabout when the incident happened in the early hours of July 7.
Officers say a man approached her in the park and tried to befriend her at around 12.15am.
The woman walked back towards Charlotte Place but the man knocked her to the floor before fleeing with her iPhone and wallet containing a bank card, driving licence and cash.
The victim suffered grazing and bruising to her legs. Police say the man fled towards London Road. He is described as dark skinned and around 5ft 7in, in his late teens to early 20s, and wore dark, casual clothing and a baseball cap.
He also had a distinctive walk causing heavy wear to the inside edge of his shoes.
PC Paul Rose, of Shirley CID, said: “I would urge people to look at this e-fit and see if it reminds them of anyone they know or if they saw anyone matching this description in the area at the time of the offence.
“Have you been offered an iPhone for sale or do you know someone matching this description who has suddenly acquired one?
“We would remind people not to walk alone in isolated areas at night and not carry expensive items such as mobile phones and wallets on display.”
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Rose at Shirley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
