SOME OF Hampshire’s finest musical talent will take to the stage to help make life better for youngsters stuck in hospital.

Southampton’s Radio Lollipop charity has announced its line-up for its musical extravaganza, Lollifest 2013, which promises to be bigger and better than last year.

The charity event will take place at one of the city’s premier live music venues, the Talking Heads and will see acts, all of which are performing for free, including Brother Goose, The Flying Alexanders and Stirling.

All proceeds from the event, which takes place on Friday, will help provide care, comfort and play for children receiving treatment at Southampton General Hospital.

Last year’s inaugural event proved to be a huge success raising more than £350.

Organiser Lee Donnarumma, volunteer fundraiser for Radio Lollipop in Southampton, said: “Lollifest is shaping up to be even bigger and better, with the opportunity to catch six quality acts all on one night in a superb venue.

“We are extremely grateful to the artists for giving up their time and to everyone at the Talking Heads and music promoters MintSouth for their support.

“Every penny raised on the night will help provide music and play for poorly children in Southampton General Hospital.”

Tickets cost £5 in advance from wegottickets.com or will be £7 on the door. Doors open at 7.30pm.
