A Hampshire MP is supporting Winchester job-seekers in their search for work.

Sir George Young, Conservative MP for North West Hampshire, visited training company A4e at its base in Regency House, St Clement Street.

The company helps a variety of people on the work programme, including prisoners and ex-offenders, and also supports local people looking to set up their own businesses.

After the visit Sir George said: “I was impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of the staff and their success in helping those out of work back into employment.”

Liz Clark, A4e business leader, added: “We are really proud of the work we are doing in Winchester, of our team and of the people we are helping, and we were pleased to be able to demonstrate this to the MP.

“It was a very positive visit and a great chance for some of the job-seekers we support to speak directly to their local representative about their experiences.
