“IT was a really successful year”.
That’s the ringing endorsement from the organisers of this year’s Waterside Arts Festival.
Hundreds of people from across Hampshire flocked to the popular festival in Hythe over the weekend and enjoyed a variety of events and displays under wonderfully sunny weather.
The festival kicked off with the Jazz at the Grove concert on Friday, while the Music on the Prom drew the crowds on Saturday. The street market in Hythe town centre proved a popular attraction before Brass on the Prom concluded the event last night.
Mike Robinson, from the festival organising committee, said: “It has been a really successful year.
“We had brilliant weather, big crowds and lots of events – we are really pleased with everything.
“I’d like to thank the committee and stewards that worked with us for the weekend and braved the sunshine.”
