This rhino-seeker has been well and truly rumbled.

Linda Neale was quick to join the Go! Rhinos stampede, which kicked off at the weekend, tracking down Rosie the flowery rhino outside St Michael’s Church.

But Rosie soon turned the tables.

Linda is the first entry in the Daily Echo’s Go! Rhinos competition, which is looking for the most imaginative photo with the sculptures that have popped up in city streets and parks.

Rosie is sponsored by The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Trust Fund and was designed by mouth and foot artist Tom Yendell.

The design was inspired by Tom’s famous images of flowers, and although the original images were painted on silk, they translate beautifully to this life-sized sculpture Linda said: “Here’s me running away from Rosie outside St Michael’s Church in sweltering Southampton.”

The trail will last for ten weeks and once it is over, the rhinos will be auctioned off, with money going to three charities – Marwell’s conservation work, Wessex Heartbeat’s HIGH 5 Appeal, and The Rose Road Association.

To get involved all you have to do is send in your photos of you, your children or even your dog next to your favourite rhino – be as imaginative as you can, without touching the sculptures.

The winning photo, judged by a panel, will win a Junior Experience worth £150, which gives one lucky youngster an unforgettable opportunity to be a zookeeper for the day, where they will get to feed the animals and muck out their enclosures, plus a family ticket for a trip to Marwell.

The best of the rest will appear in a special souvenir supplement of photos at the end of the trail.

Just email your photos to picdesk@dailyecho.co.uk, with your name, address, contact telephone number and the names and ages of those in the photo, plus where they are from.
