Drivers were facing rush hour chaos this morning after an accident closed one of the south’s major motorways.
Police shut the M27 between junctions three and four east bound just after 6am.
The incident involved an HGV lorry and a Skoda Fabia.
All lanes have been reopened and the lorry has been recovered.
Traffic is moving again but tailbacks are estimated to be as long as four to five miles.
The Skoda Fabia was removed swiftly by recovery crews.
Police say the car driver suffered slight injuries.
The motorway was initially shut due to a diesel spillage before lanes three and four were reopened.
