A HAMPSHIRE brewery has revealed a new look for its popular beers.

The rebranding by Ringwood Brewery, based in Christchurch Road, Ringwood, will be officially unveiled at a launch event at its premises today.

Using the tagline “visit the winding downs” the brewery says the change gives a more rustic feel and conjures up visions of a natural forest wood.

But launching the new look for a well-established brand has not been a lighthearted decision for the brewery.

It carried out extensive consumer research in and out of the area before drawing up the design.

The firm’s iconic boar will remain on each pump clip but has been developed to reflect the personality of the beers.

The new branding will be rolled out on glassware, dripmats, bar runners and merchandise.

The brewery was founded by Peter Austin in 1978 and its first brewhouse was in a former bakery in the old station yard.

It brewed Best Bitter and Fortyniner before producing the popular flagship beer Old Thumper in 1979.

Now the company also produces Boondoggle, Huffkin, XXXX Porter and Showman’s Tipple.

Rachel Barnett, brand manager, said: “We feel that the new creative reflects the perceptions and associations with Ringwood that were revealed during our research and combines the heritage of the brand whilst giving it a more contemporary edge to appeal to a wider audience.

“We are delighted with the new design for the pump clips and cannot wait to see them in pubs up and down the country.”
