ROGUE traders are cold-calling in parts of Hampshire, trading standards officers have warned.
They are targeting the Bartonon- Sea area offering to clean driveways.
Hampshire County Council trading standards is advising residents not to agree to work as a result of a cold call or leaflet drop.
Traders are required by law to provide consumers with a Notice of Right to Cancel, which gives consumers a seven-day coolingoff period. Work should not commence until this period has ended, unless written agreement is obtained from that consumer beforehand.
Anyone with information about traders who are cold-calling or who requires advice on doorstep crime should contact the county council’s Quick Response Team on 01962 833666 during office hours when trained officers can give advice. If help is needed outside these hours
