Itchen Bridge shut over jump threat
A MAJOR Southampton bridge was closed this morning as a woman threatened to jump.
PA Solent Coastguard spokesman said they had attended the drama on the Itchen Bridge.
He said the Hamble lifeboat was sent to the scene to be on standby after they received the call around 8.30am and later the Southampton Coastguard, but the police managed to talk the woman down.
The Itchen Bridge re-opened around 9.30am.
