THE funeral of a popular electrician who died after being hit by a car as he walked towards his father’s house along the A31 will take place next week.
Father-of-two Danny Mulford, who worked in Ringwood, had been out celebrating his boss’s birthday in the town and was walking to St Leonards when he was hit by a white Skoda Octavia on the westbound underpass of the A31 just before 2am on Saturday July 13.
A service for the 33-year-old will be held at Southampton Crematorium, East Chapel, on Wednesday, July 31, at 11.45am which will celebrate his life.
Those attending are asked to wear black with a splash of red.
Only family and flowers from close friends are requested, but if people would like to make a donation to a trust for Danny’s children they can do so through the Co-operative Funeralcare, 185 Long Lane, Holbury, SO45 2PA.
All are welcome after the service at The Boathouse, Hythe Marina.
Police closed the A31 last Monday afternoon so Mr Mulford’s family could lay flowers at the scene of his death.
His sister Tracy, who lives in Ringwood, paid tribute to her brother recalling how everybody loved Danny and that he had “a very big heart”.
He leaves behind his wife and childhood sweetheart Zara, and their son Bradley and daughter Caitlin.
