The death of a man whose body was discovered at home by his partner was an accident, a coroner has ruled.
Andrew Fraser, of Kingsfield Gardens, Bursledon, was found dead at home on February 16.
Toxicology reports showed he was more than five times the drink-drive limit.
His partner of three years, Stacey Incate, discovered him on the floor and told the hearing the 42-year-old had been drinking heavily all week. Miss Incate said Mr Fraser was unemployed and had struggled with depression after losing his home and his ex-wife.
Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short said he did not believe Mr Fraser meant to end his own life and recorded a verdict of accidental death.
He told the inquest in Winchester: “It was voluntary but he did not intend the consequence.”
