A PARAGLIDER has crashed into a cliff on the Isle of Wight.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident that happened at cliffs at Chale on the south of the island just after 1.20pm this afternoon.
According to early reports the female paraglider appeared to have crashed and has dropped up to 120ft down the cliff face.
The HM Coastguard's search and rescue helicopter was deployed and with the help of paramedics, managed to winch the woman, who is thought to be in ther 30s, off the cliff face.
She was then taken to Southampton General Hospital by helicopter for further treatment.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said it was not clear at this stage how badly injured the paraglider was.
