AN Eastleigh man, who beat up his mother, leaving her with a fractured rib, was further remanded in custody for a mental health assessment when he appeared at Winchester Crown Court.
Defence barrister Audrey Archer urged Mr Justice Royce to adjourn the hearing following concern in the probation report about his mental health issues.
“He accepts he needs assistance and to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
David Blann, 25, of Desborough Road, Eastleigh, had been committed for sentence by magistrates after pleading guilty to causing actual bodily harm to his mother, Janet.
He will be sentenced on August 20.
