SPECTACULAR motorsport action in Hampshire tomorrow is set to raise funds for Southampton-based charity Leukaemia Busters.

The final round of the 2013 Hampshire Motocross Championship will be held at Matterley Estate, near Winchester.

Thousands of fans are expected to watch the races which start at 10.15am.

There will be a charity auction at lunchtime and more races from 2.15pm before the awards are presented in the evening.

Daily Echo:

The event, being run by Jamie and Michelle Sanderson, aims to raise as much as possible for the research charity, which helps develop new and improved antibody-based therapies for patients with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.

So far they have raised more than £250,000 with their annual motocross championships as well as other events such as skydiving.

The charity’s primary laboratory, called The Simon Flavell Leukaemia Research Laboratory, is named after ten-year-old Simon Flavell who died in 1990 from the disease.

The lab, based at Southampton General Hospital, is directed by Simon’s parents doctors David and Bee Flavell.
