Police are appealing for more information after a woman on a mobility scooter was injured in a hit-and-run collision.

The 61-year-old from Fareham was on Gosport Road at the crossing into Stubbington village when a collision occurred with a dark coloured vehicle.

It’s alleged the motorist failed to stop and continued towards the Red Lion roundabout after the collision, which happened shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday, July 24, 2013.

The woman received bruising to her head and the right-side of her body.

Investigating officer PC Nicola Gawthorpe said: “This collision has left the woman very shaken, affecting her confidence in going out on her own.

“I am appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist with identifying the driver or the vehicle involved.”

Witnesses and anyone with information can contact PC Nicola Gawthorpe at Park Gate police station by phoning 101.
