POLICE have reopened part of a busy dual carriageway in Hampshire today after a woman fell from a bridge onto the road.
A section of the A3 near Petersfield has been sealed off between the A272 Winchester Road and Farnham Road junctions after the woman fell onto the northern carriageway at noon.
She suffered serious injuries and has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service.
Officers have reopened the southbound carriageway but the northbound is still shut while officers complete their investigations.
Motorists can expect severe delays with congestion building southbound to the B3006 Ham Barn Roundabout, northbound to the B2070 turn off and also on the B2070 to Ramshill.
