WINCHESTER residents are being warned to keep their cars secure after a spate of break-ins.
Thieves stole valuables from three cars in Chilbolton Avenue and Fairfield Road, Fulflood, overnight on Wednesday last week.
A disabled blue badge, a TomTom satnav and a Hewlett Packard laptop were taken from the vehicles, which were all parked in driveways.
PC Glen Willis-Long said: “Most offences of theft from vehicle are opportunist. If valuable possessions such as handbags, satnavs, mobile phones and cameras are left inside a vehicle, it is much more likely to be targeted by thieves.
“My simple message to motorists is, when leaving your car, close all windows, lock your doors and remove all valuable items.”
Contact PC Willis-Long at Winchester Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
