FURTHER fundraising efforts are being made to help a puppy needing a life-saving operation.
As reported last weekend, Alison Parsons, from Millbrook, and her friends have launched an online campaign to try to help her pet Harry.
The five-month-old lurcher has been diagnosed with portosystemic shunt, a problem with his liver. He needs an operation costing £2,500, with pre-op checks costing £1,200. Unfortunately, although Harry is insured, the insurance company will not cover the operation because it excluded any gastro or digestive system disorders.
Today a sale is being held on a drive in William McCloud Way, Millbrook, selling second-hand items donated by wellwishers, from 11am to 4pm. There is also an upcoming sponsored walk and a fun day in Millbrook Christian Centre on August 18, from 2pm to 7pm.
Alison said she has received some donations since the Daily Echo appeal but desperately needs more.
