A CAMPAIGN group is stepping up its fight to block plans to build the UK’s biggest solar farm in the Test Valley.
Broughton Against Kronos Solar (BAKS), headed by Alan Josling, is opposed to the German energy giant Kronos Solar Projects’ scheme to install 225,456 solar panels on farmland owned by borough councillor Danny Busk at Eveley Farm at Houghton.
Mr Josling said Baks membership had now risen to around 50 and he’s hoping more people will support the organisation’s campaign to prevent the scheme.
He said: “We have contacted the Campaign for the Protection for Rural England, the Rambler, the Open Spaces Society, MP Caroline Nokes and Andrew Gibson with our concerns about this solar farm proposal.”
Mr Josling added that the group is trying to persuade the landowner who is offering to allow Kronos access, to withdraw his consent.
Kronos has yet to submit its application to Test Valley planners.
