MORE than 100 young people took to the hills to raise money for some of their 50 youth groups and centres which are supported by Hampshire charity Youth Options.

The youngsters took on the three peaks challenge by climbing the three biggest hills in Hampshire before celebrating their achievement with a barbecue.

One of the event organisers from Youth Options Sarah Collinson said “Every youth group are always looking to advance their facilities in one way or another. It’s great that these young people are showing a determination not only to complete the challenge but also to raise money for their centre.”

The young people conquered Beacon Hill, Old Winchester Hill and Butser Hill with NCS Southampton winning in a time of 86 minutes.

Mark Dixon, CEO of Youth Options said “I would like to say well done to all those involved in this unique challenge.

Its great to see so many young people motivated not only to complete the challenge, but also to raise money for their youth groups.”
