Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic accident.
The incident occurred at around 3.20pm, July 26, on Staplers Road, Isle of Wight, near Butterfly World, when a Blue Ford Escort travelling from Wootton towards Newport was involved in a collision with a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed for about 2 and half hours.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the accident. Anyone with information should contact PC Geoff Turner of the Roads Policing Unit at Shanklin Police Station by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
