Traffic congestion
MOTORISTS are facing major delays on one of the busiest routes out of Southampton this morning.
Traffic on the M271 northbound ground to a halt at around 10.30am this morning after a crash close to the Redbridge roundabout.
Police say a silver Ford Mondeo skidded and hit barriers on the fast lane causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
One lane is still blocked with oil and debris on the carriageway. Five sections of the barrier have also been damaged but nobody was hurt in the crash.
