A NEW Forest restaurant has had its opening hours cut back following allegations of late night fighting, heavy drinking and drug taking.
The Siam Thai Lounge in Lyndhurst has been forced to close at 11.30pm rather than 12.30pm. In the future alcohol can only sold with a meal up until 11pm.
The restaurant’s licence was called into review following a spate of incidents which included a huge fight which broke out after a drunk man inappropriately touched a woman.
In a report police said they had found traces of cocaine in a toilet.
The measures imposed by New Forest District Council licensing bosses also include requiring the owner Aminur Chowdhury to undergo training in the next three months. Staff must also be trained on alcohol sales.
This came after police called into question Mr Chowdury’s understanding and ability to support the requirements of a licence.
