AN armed robber who struck fear into the heart of a community during a 48-hour knife and machete-wielding rampage is today behind bars.
Sid Pumford terrorised shopkeepers and staff as he menacingly threatened violence unless they emptied safes and tills.
Victims were so traumatised that they were left “psychologically damaged” and most needed medical help, a court heard.
Now the 31-year-old, who has a catalogue of previous violence, has been handed a 19-year sentence by a judge who branded him dangerous and a serious risk to the public.
