A CHARITY trip from Southampton to Southsea is thought to have raised hundreds of pounds for the Sue Ryder organisation.
Volunteers at the Shirley branch of the charity, which provides health and social care services, took ten hours to complete the 20-mile journey in the Ride for Ryder event.
Under the terms of the challenge they were allowed to use public transport for part of the journey. First Bus provided them with free travel and they were also able to use the Gosport ferry without paying.
The Southampton branch of Asda gave them ten bottles of water.
Vicki Edworthy, one of the people who took part, said: “At the end of the day I was exhausted but very glad that I’d done it.”
