A POLICE helicopter is currently circling over Millbrook in Southampton hunting for a dangerous driver.
Officers from Shirley and Millbrook are involved in the search for a person at the wheel of a large off-road scrambler bike which has been seen being driven erratically through the area.
The alarm was raised around 1pm by concerned residents who saw the red and white two-wheeled vehicle racing up and down their street. The driver was not thought to be wearing any kind of safety helmet.
One woman who didn't want to be named told how she saw a biker racing around Mansel Park area this morning, driving at approximately 50 miles per hour.
Officers say they have also had reports of the bike being spotted in Ullswater Road and Windemere Avenue today.
Several police officers are in the area on bikes and on foot and have been stopping and talking to residents.
A Hampshire police spokesman said anyone who spots the scrambler bike being driven should call 999, while anyone who knows the person responsible is asked to call 101.
It comes just two days after the national police air support service launched a helicopter over the same area looking for nuisance motorcyclists, just after 4pm on Sunday.
