POLICE hunting a youth seen racing through the streets on an off-road scrambler are urging residents to do their bit and shop him.
Officers have spent the afternoon searching for the man who was seen driving dangerously and at speed through Millbrook in Southampton.
He was first seen as he sped past the new police station in the grounds of Redbridge Fire Station but local residents also raised the alarm, concerned as he tore through the local community.
Initially a police helicopter was drafted in to try and trace the yob but it was later stood down. Officers on foot and on bikes continued the search in the Mansel Park, Ullswater Road and Windermere Avenue area this afternoon.
A Hampshire police spokesman told the Daily Echo that local people who spotted the distinctive red and white bike being driven were being asked to call 999.
Alternatively, if you know who is responsible or where it might be being kept, contact local police on 101.
Today's incident comes just two days after the national police air support service launched a helicopter over the same area looking for nuisance motorcyclists, just after 4pm on Sunday.
