YOUNGSTERS in Thornhill are celebrating after supermarket giant Tesco donated cash to a youth centre.
Tesco presented Thornhill Youth Centre with a cheque for £500 to mark the opening of its new convenience store in the community.
Paul Sillence, who runs the centre, was made guest of honour for the opening of the Tesco Express store in Thornhill Park Road.
The centre is found opposite the centre and holds events and meetings, and aims to provide youth provisions for young people between eight and 11.
Tesco manager Emma Reid said: “We were delighted to be able to support the Thornhill Youth Centre as it does such fantastic work for those living in the local community. We are so pleased that Paul came to open the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”
Paul said: “I would like to thank Tesco for this generous donation which will enable us to provide equipment and carry out maintenance work at the centre.”
