NEW Winchester Tory parliamentary candidate Steve Brine spent his first day of public campaigning in the high street.
Mr Brine, pictured, along with local councillors and activists collected around 1,000 signatures from people concerned about the NHS financial crisis.
The Winchester petition calls on the government to end its financial mismanagement' of the NHS.
Mr Brine said: "In spite of what ministers say, NHS deficits are having a direct effect on patient care. People know you cannot lose front-line staff and close wards with any other outcome."
