HIGH-visibility police patrols are being drafted into Fareham town centre in the run-up to Christmas.
The aim is to prevent antisocial behaviour and to enforce the order banning the drinking of alcohol on the streets.
The police will also be working in partnership with the Accredited Community Support Officers (ACSOs) who will be enforcing the no- cycling zone in the town's pedestrian area.
Sgt Simon Martin said: "The aim of our high-visibility patrols is to reassure members of the public who are out in the town centre in the Christmas period that they can celebrate safely, as well as to prevent any disorder, which can impact on the quality of life of others."
