A MAN has been arrested after the discovery of a woman's body at a home in Hampshire.
A woman’s body was located by police at an address in Wilmcote House, Tyseley Road, Southsea on Tuesday evening.
Officers attended the address following a call from Portsmouth City Council, as there were concerns for the welfare of an older woman living in a council property.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death.
A 53-year-old man from Southsea was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries. He is due to report back to police in November.
Initial enquiries show there is no risk to the wider community.
Formal identification procedures and a post mortem examination have not yet taken place.
