THE Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be beamed into millions of homes as part of a new documentary series.
They will feature in Trauma: Level 1, a new programme showing life on the frontline of trauma medicine.
Through interviews with paramedics, and scenes from lifesaving missions, viewers will get an insight into the everyday operations of the air ambulance crew.
The series shows how the specialist trauma centre at Southampton General Hospital operates, and shows how the Air Ambulance crew interacts with them.
The county's air ambulance began operations in 2007, responding to everything from road traffic collisions, to sporting accidents and serious medical conditions throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
From the moment of receiving a call, the helicopter can be airborne within four minutes and can reach anywhere in Hampshire within 15 minutes.
Trauma: Level 1 will be broadcast on ITV on August 27 and September 3 at 9pm.
