THERE is no master plan or strategy, it is just a case of marking a spot without too much thought, but for Ronald Toomer it has been a money-spinner.

The 70-year-old joiner from Highfield, Southampton, is celebrating once again after winning the runner-up prize in the Daily Echo's Find the Ball competition for the third year running.

Mr Toomer, of Ripstone Gardens, collects £2,200 to add to his previous winnings of £5,000 from the competition.

Now he cannot wait to tell his brother that he has been successful for a third time.

Mr Toomer, who is pictured left celebrating his success in 2005, said: "It's wonderful news. I enjoy doing it because it's a real challenge and most of the time it is really surprising where the ball actually is.

"The money will come in really handy for Christmas and I am in the middle of decorating my house so it's a great help.

"After I won for the second time my brother decided to start playing because he saw I was on to a good thing and since then he's been playing every week.

"I cannot wait to see him later to boast that I have won again."

Do not miss your copy of the Daily Echo tomorrow to stand a chance of winning the jackpot prize, which currently stands at £36,000, or the runner-up prize of £2,300.
