IT will be newspaper versus pizza as two Southampton companies battle it out on the pitch to raise money for charity on Saturday.

Teams from the Daily Echo, in Redbridge, and Domino's Pizza, in Totton, will be lacing up their football boots for a five-a-side charity match for the Rose Road Association.

And the Daily Echo team is going to have to run their socks off if they are going to raise a lot of money, because for every goal they win by, Domino's will donate some dosh.

The generosity doesn't end there, in the true spirit of seasonal goodwill, Domino's in Totton will also be providing the children at Rose Road with free pizzas to mark the opening of their new store.

Captain of the Daily Echo team Adrian Knibbs said: "It should be a great event but we are going to have to work hard if we are going to make a substantial amount of money."

The match will take place at Goals in Millbrook, starting at 10am.
