FIVE gold rings were among a haul of jewellery found dumped in a Southampton street.
The bejewelled rings along with a collection of five gold ladies' watches, was recovered by police in Victor Street, Shirley, after being spotted by a member of the public.
Officers believe the jewellery, worth several hundred pounds, could be the result of burglaries in the area.
As previously reported in the Daily Echo, residents in the Shirley area were put on alert in October after police said they believed the same person was responsible for some 20 break-ins locally.
The crime spree first happened in July when properties were targeted while the owners were away. However, the burglar also known to break into homes while the residents were asleep.
Helen Ward, of the Burglary Investigation Team, said: "We would like to identify whom this jewellery belongs to as we think it could very well have been stolen from one or a number of burglaries."
