SOUTHAMPTON singing superstar Craig David spoke of his pride after a plaque was unveiled in his honour in Southampton today.
The 32-year-old, who grew up on the Holyrood estate, was in town to witness the unveiling by Southampton Itchen MP John Denham at The Cellar this afternoon.
It was unveiled to mark the city's Black History Month celebrations.
Craig, who now lives in Miami, was happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs to a wealth of star-struck fans.
The former Bellemoor School pupil told the Daily Echo: βIt's an honour to have a plaque put up in my name. It's about showing the youth in Southampton that people can be successful if they have dreams and aspirations. If you work hard you can achieve anything.β
